Thanks for your commendable commitment and response. What kind of images should I send you for a more thorough consultation? And is it possible for a patient who is already in treatment with another doctor to visit a new orthodontist? Because my own doctor is on trip right now and I feel my teeth are being severely squished together and have no place to move. I again appreciate your kindness.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Please send x-rays of your mouth’s interior from different angles. Regretfully, we don’t accept consultation during an ongoing orthodontic treatment.

I’m 22 and I want to have orthodontics on my upper teeth. I had root canal on all my teeth and they are all filled, except for my wisdom tooth and two of my lower teeth. Do I need to repair all my lower teeth before the molding? Is it urgent o have a root canal on my wisdom tooth, or can I do it after the molding and before placing the braces? Thank you.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
If you’re having orthodontics just for the upper jaw, the lower teeth can be repaired during orthodontics. There is no need to repair the wisdom tooth and it’s usually extracted if the orthodontist sees fit.

My upper canine teeth are placed higher than their usual place. My front teeth are slightly crooked. What is the length of orthodontic treatment? Can it be reduced? I’m in distress. My daily life has been affected.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Usually, fixed orthodontics takes between 15 to 24 months. Please send me x-rays of your teeth, so I can better comment.

I’m 15 years old. It’s been two days since I have started orthodontics, and my doctor has scheduled the wiring of the lower jaw for October. All my upper teeth are in so much pain that I can’t eat anything but liquids. Will the pain continue? My doctor didn’t give me any orthodontics wax and none of my neighborhood drugstores has it. Will I get used to the appliance? Now, I really regret it! And is it possible to not wire the lower teeth? I mean wire just one jaw? Thanks.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Usually, it’s common to experience pain and some discomfort in the first four days after the Fixed Braces Orthodontics are placed. Also, to begin the orthodontics with just one jaw is a good practice; otherwise, you would be in more pain. There is no need to worry. You’ll get used to the orthodontic appliance after approximately 4 days.

Two of my front teeth are slightly crooked and are towards inside. I visited an orthodontist and he suggested because the problem is minor and it may recur, it’s better not to have orthodontics. But I really want to have straight teeth without using any laminates. I would appreciate your opinion.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Considering the minor irregularities of your teeth, I don’t suggest orthodontics either. Try no to overthink about it.

Since I’ve started the orthodontic treatment, my gums have recessed severely, especially in my lower teeth and canines. It’s been a week since my braces were removed after the treatment was completed, but I still have severe gum recession. I would appreciate your advice. Thanks.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
In order to get a more clear picture of your problem, you need an in-person appointment with a gum specialist.

I’m in my tenth month of upper jaw orthodontic treatment, without extracting any tooth. My teeth have become slightly inclined towards the front. Is this normal or is the treatment process wrong? And is there a way to pull them back?
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
In orthodontic treatment, the teeth will normally be slightly pulled towards the front in order to make it possible for them to get fixed. If your orthodontist approves, there are solutions to fix teeth inclination.

I’ve done orthodontics on my upper jaw teeth last august. Just tooth no.1 was a little inside. It’s almost fixed, but the same tooth didn’t align from the left side and it’s a bit inside. Since tooth no.2 is placed on top of it, my orthodontist told me that there isn’t any space left and nothing more can be done. He also mentioned that the problem would be fixed with milling at the end of treatment. Can milling provide a space for movement? Is this approach correct and effective? I would appreciate your help.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
It’s possible to improve the teeth placement. Ask your own orthodontist to easily fix it for you.
Thanks for your contact. In your case, it takes about one and a half years.
All your teeth need orthodontics, and wires and braces will be applied on all of them.
