If the abnormalities of your teeth are not severe, invisible orthodontics can also be used, because invisible appliances are made from ceramic and don’t have the capability of metal appliances. By invisible orthodontics, we mean when tooth-colored braces and wires are used or when braces are applied at the back of the teeth, which is called “lingual orthodontics”.

Two of my front teeth are slightly crooked and are towards inside. I visited an orthodontist and he suggested because the problem is minor and it may recur, it’s better not to have orthodontics. But I really want to have straight teeth without using any laminates. I would appreciate your opinion.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Considering the minor irregularities of your teeth, I don’t suggest orthodontics either. Try no to overthink about it.

My upper canine teeth are placed higher than their usual place. My front teeth are slightly crooked. What is the length of orthodontic treatment? Can it be reduced? I’m in distress. My daily life has been affected.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Usually, fixed orthodontics takes between 15 to 24 months. Please send me x-rays of your teeth, so I can better comment.

I’m 22 and I want to have orthodontics on my upper teeth. I had root canal on all my teeth and they are all filled, except for my wisdom tooth and two of my lower teeth. Do I need to repair all my lower teeth before the molding? Is it urgent o have a root canal on my wisdom tooth, or can I do it after the molding and before placing the braces? Thank you.
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
If you’re having orthodontics just for the upper jaw, the lower teeth can be repaired during orthodontics. There is no need to repair the wisdom tooth and it’s usually extracted if the orthodontist sees fit.

I have two questions. First, since my teeth are tiny, do fixed braces come in small and big sizes? Moreover, I have a deep bite and also crooked teeth. How long does treatment take for a deep bite? And is it possible to use Damon braces?
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Braces come in different sizes, both small and big. Usually, the orthodontics takes 14 to 18 months. Also, you can use Damon braces.

I’m 21 and I don’t have the time to have orthodontics right now. Can I have orthodontics and get straight teeth when I’m 22? And will I face any problems?
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Yes, you can have orthodontics. In general, provided that the gums and teeth are healthy and you have a good oral hygiene, there would be no age limit for orthodontics.
All your teeth need orthodontics, and wires and braces will be applied on all of them.

I’m 23 years old. Since I live in a county, I preferred to get a consultation this way. As you can see in my x-ray, my left lower teeth are more anterior than the upper teeth, and as a result, my lips are not straight while I talk. In addition, there are big gaps between my other teeth and I do not have two of my molars, but I have wisdom teeth. I want to know whether orthodontics can fix the problem with my left teeth or there is a need for jaw surgery? And if orthodontics can help, how long will it take? How much does it cost and how many months can the installments be broken down to?
Dr. Hadi Darvishpour :
Your jaw is deviated to the left and you need fixed orthodontic treatment.
The cost of lingual orthodontics is several times more than the usual fixed orthodontics. It’s because the braces are made specific to each patient. The patient’s teeth mold is sent to France and the braces are made there. The approximate price is between 20 to 25 million Tomans, which is not cost-effective.
The approximate cost of orthodontic varies, depending on the severity of the dental problem. It’s usually more than 6 million tomans. In general, I don’t recommend the invisible orthodontic treatment system, because the treatment takes longer, teeth move slower, and tooth extraction is more likely to happen.
